Josh Fiester is a co-founder of Factor Design Build. Prior to founding Factor, Josh was in charge of business development for Melton Design Build from 2008-2016. Josh managed remodeling projects of every size throughout Colorado and San Francisco and has more than 12 years of experience managing large-scale commercial and residential projects. In 2005, Josh Fiester became LEED-certified to continue expanding his extensive experience in green building. He also served as a project manager on the construction of the first LEED platinum commercial building in the country. A Boulder native, Josh graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder and continues to enjoy living in Boulder spending time with his two daughters Jenna and Claire. In his off time, he can be found riding dirt bikes and fly fishing.
Kent Simpson

Kent is in charge of operational efficiency and business operations for Factor Design Build. Kent has over 25 years of construction, property development, property management, and extensive homebuilding experience. Prior to Factor Design Build, Kent worked for both a national homebuilder and two regional builders overseeing operations, customer experience, and process improvement initiatives. Kent attended Colorado State University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Arts- Sociology, with additional coursework in Political Science and Construction Management. In his spare time Kent and his wife enjoy spending time with their family of two daughters and a son. He enjoys running, hiking, backpacking, yoga, and gardening, and playing ice hockey.
Mike Anderson

Mike is a Project Manager, carpenter, and woodworker, who takes pride in every aspect of his craft, from a well organized jobsite, to a perfectly snug joint on a piece of custom-built furniture. Mike moved to Denver and joined the Factor team in early 2020 and is loving the challenge of learning the nuances of the industry in a new town. He’s comfortable managing multiple job sites ranging from powder room updates to “full gut” projects and additions – and does it all with intention and great music playing in the background. Mike is originally from a suburb of Toronto, attended Providence College in Rhode Island on a Track & Field scholarship, and has traveled around the world. In his spare time, you can find him strumming a guitar, hiking in the mountains, engrossing himself in a new hobby, or on long-distance chats with family and friends.

Lam is the Estimating & Procurement Manager at Factor Design Build. His woodworking and carpentry experience has varied from set building to furniture and cabinet making and finish carpentry. Lam is a California native who attended Oberlin College for studio art and the North Bennet Street School for preservation carpentry. In his free time Lam can be found reading, hiking, trying to learn the guitar and going to stand-up comedy shows.

David is a Project Developer at Factor Design Build. His extensive sales and hands-on construction knowledge enable him to help customers discover unique and innovative remodeling solutions. He is passionate about producing beautiful, high-quality projects and is eager to help homeowners see their vision come to life. Prior to Factor Design Build, David worked in the construction and cycling industries managing sales and business development with a focus on delivering the best possible experience for his clients. David hails from Atlanta, Georgia and attended the University of Alabama before heading west to enjoy all that Colorado has to offer. He recently moved from Boulder to the Highlands with his wife and sweet dog, and can be found tinkering with his mountain bike, skiing or hoping Max Verstappen snags a win each Formula One race.

Rachel started in the construction world at a window company, overseeing the customer service department. She eventually moved on to doing similar work for a fireplace installation company and then got into warranty management for another build company in the Denver area. Rachel is a native Denverite and grew up in North Denver, not far from the current Factor offices. An avid diver and swimmer, Rachel and her husband often take trips to exotic locations to go scuba diving. She also enjoys spending time with her two teenage daughters and family, as well as gardening and the occasional hike to enjoy nature.

Tessa is the Factor Design Build Brand Manager. She graduated from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo in 2020 with a degree in Communication Studies and a concentration in Visual Brand Marketing. She has a background in Communications Coordination with various Environmental Protection companies, Business Entrepreneurship, and Visual Brand Development. Tessa’s love of people, interpersonal communication, and the arts inspire her work as a brand manager. When she isn’t organizing magazine publications and marketing campaigns, Tessa loves to spend her time hiking, skiing, practicing yoga, painting, learning new recipes, shooting film photography, and trail running with her dog Melons.
Robin Bryant

Robin Bryant is a licensed interior designer with over a decade of experience working for custom and production homebuilders across the Southeast. Originally from Georgia, she graduated from the University of Georgia’s CIDA accredited Interior Design program at the Lamar Dodd School of Art. In 2010, Robin left Atlanta for Denver, where she started a design with services ranging from tasks as simple as selecting paint colors to projects as comprehensive as designing custom homes. Her knowledge of materials and finishes, space planning, traditional architectural detailing, and modern construction practices reinforce her ability to create lasting solutions for any design problem. Beyond her passion for architecture and interiors, Robin enjoys riding bikes, cooking and entertaining, and learning foreign languages.
Aya Ishikawa

Aya Ishikawa

Aya is a Factor Design Build Revit Modeler/Drafter. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Japanese and Japanese Literature, a Diploma of Architecture, and a Certificate in Revit, and has been in the residential design and construction industry for 15 years as a licensed architect in Japan! She was born and raised in Tokyo, and now resides in Louisville, CO. Aya’s attention to detail, creativity, and communication skills strengthen her role as a Revit Modeler and Drafter, and stem back to the love for architecture she discovered when she was 10 years old. She moved to CO in 2017 and felt enthused and excited to start with Factor Design Build as a Revit Modeler in 2021. She enjoys the fresh opportunity to start from the ground up on client projects, and in her free time enjoys camping, traveling, skiing, cooking & eating with her family, as well as house and garden projects!

Danielle McCool is a Junior Interior Designer with Factor Design Build. She is a people person and creative, both of which drive her enthusiasm behind her work. Danielle loves that her work as a designer allows her to make a positive impact on people’s lives and turn their creative ideas into realities. Born and raised in Littleton, CO, her inspiration to chase her dreams as an interior designer came from her dad, whom she admires for his exemplary work ethic and constant pursuit of new learning experiences. She proceeded to graduate from Colorado State University with a Bachelor of Science in Interior Architecture and Design with a certificate in Design Thinking. When She’s not sourcing and picking materials for her next design project, Danielle enjoys hiking, cooking, music, playing soccer, frequenting farmer’s markets, and spending time with the people she loves.

Christine Puskar has a BFA in interior design from the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), as well as experience designing for diverse sizes and types of projects, from single-family homes and apartments to hospitality and mixed-use developments. Christine has always been an artist at heart and looks for ways to create unique moments in her work. From drawing architectural details, specifying interior materials, and hand sketching, she fearlessly embraces the dynamic work of the interior’s profession. Christine always brings bright energy, an impeccable eye for design, and quality of work to her projects. Outside of interior design, she creates fiber and watercolor artwork, looks for the best antique shopping, and loves to snowboard. Christine is a NCIDQ Qualified Interior Designer.
Dana Bond

Construction has always been in Dana Bond’s blood, learning from an early age in her family’s Illinois cabinet shop that has been in continuous operation since 1951. The cabinet design specialist at Factor Design Build has an innate understanding of all phases of construction and takes pride in producing design that work for both clients and builders. She started designing cabinets in high school, moved to Colorado in 1996 and has worked for cabinet manufacturers and run her own design firm. Honesty with clients is a principle she embraces daily, understanding that educated decisions are important when facing large purchases. Bond has been married to her husband, James, since 2006 and they have three children who are extremely involved in sports. They enjoy travel, including in their own camper.

Dain Carlson is a Factor Design Build Architect with a passion for Sustainable Design, and the start-to-finish process of creating personalized home renovations. Dain fell in love with architecture after he had the opportunity to build his first timber frame house in Washington during a week-long hands-on course. Though originally from Saint Louis Park, Minnesota, Dain studied at The University of Oregon and has spent his time enjoying Colorado trail running, skiing, and hiking ever since. When he’s not running Ultra’s, you can likely find him spending time with his dogs and horses. Dain’s favorite part of working as an architect with Factor Design Build is the variety of projects he gets to work on and how each starts out as something entirely different than the finished product. He loves to witness and contribute to this incredible creative transition, and not to mention… loves all the Factor Design Build employees that he spends his days with!
Chris Doherty

Chris is an architect with Factor Design Build. He has called a few different places home; born and raised outside Boston, he has also lived in New York and Spain. He moved to New York after graduating from Northeastern University in Architecture and worked with several large companies on Multifamily Residential complexes. It wasn’t until he shifted gears into a smaller operation designing loft renovation for a small family that he fell in love with smaller-scale, personalized projects that allow him to work with clients more intimately and hone in on his love for details and how they affect the overall feel of the space. He is a specialist when it comes to interpreting a client's needs into a holistic, human-centered design that meets and hopefully exceeds their expectations. Inspired by the beauty and functionality of the architecture he observed in his travels around Europe, Chris developed a well-rounded sense of architecture and its ability to not only satisfy a customer but progress society as a whole. Outside of his work, you’ll find him mountain biking, snowboarding, and hiking with his dog Ollie!

Landon Millsap is a project management professional with fifteen years of experiencing managing projects in Construction and Real Estate. His passion is in improving things, whether it be a home, business, or friends and family. Landon is at his best when he is helping others by solving meaningful problems. Landon grew up in Wichita, KS where he got into residential remodel and real estate. From Wichita, he moved to Huntsville, AL, where he met his wife, Donna. They moved to Denver in 2013 and absolutely love living here. They have a dog and a cat and live in a fun loft in RiNo. Beyond his passion for work, Landon is an avid runner. He enjoys hiking, camping, skiing, and cooking.
David McClung

DJ is a Denver Project Manager with Factor Design Build. He studied at the University of North Texas and has a background in residential foreclosures, insurance repairs, and basic construction. A talented problem solver, DJ found a passion for Math and a knack for the management of project procedures from start to finish. Thanks to his experience watching his parents own a carpentry and custom home-building business, David learned from a young age the positive impact that a sturdy work ethic and approachable demeanor can have! He’s continually inspired by the talented colleagues with whom he works, and the opportunity to build relationships with clients. In his free time, DJ wears many hobby hats such as avid fisherman, average golfer, washed-up rugby player, semi-pro race car driver, and amateur tattoo artist!

Ron is a Factor Project Manager who has been based in Denver for almost 4 years. Prior to his time in Denver, Ron owned and operated a remodel business in Seattle WA for 18 years! He also spent a gratifying 12 years as a Team Leader with Habitat for Humanity Global Village building homes all around the world. Inspired by his brother who is a hard working builder on the East Coast, Ron has a deep love for the process of bringing people’s visions come to life, and thrives off of the feeling of problem solving and putting the pieces of the puzzle together! When he isn’t working, Ron loves to Ski, read and learn, hike, and a good game night.

Originally from Dallas, Amy earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management Technology from Oklahoma State University. Looking for a new adventure, she made the move with her husband and dog to Denver. In her free time, you’ll find Amy skiing, taking yoga classes, paddleboarding, and hiking with her husband, dog, and friends.

Payton is a Pre-Construction Coordinator with Factor Design Build. Prior to joining the Factor team, Payton graduated from CSU with a degree in Real Estate Finance, then managed the rental portfolio for a high-end home developer, and eventually moved on to work in commercial construction with Pinkard Construction. A critical thinker, Payton’s favorite part of working as a Pre-Construction Coordinator with Factor is taking a project idea and working through every corner of it to extract a clear and successful project plan. A true Colorado Native, Payton’s family roots stem back to 1822 in the CO San Luis Valley, and he never plans on leaving! The inspiration behind Payton’s work is the joy of client satisfaction and giving them the best value for their dream project. When he isn’t analyzing project plans, you might find him camping or skiing, but now that he’s a father, he spends most of his free time crawling around on the carpet.

Jody Harris worked as a nurse for 25 years, while doing a lot of home improvement projects on the side. His love of doing hands-on work eventually led Jody to a complete career change. He started his own business, a one-man operation doing handyman and remodel work, no project too large or small. When a friend started working at Factor, he recommended Jody come aboard, and the rest is history. Jody represents the company with a can-do attitude, enjoys working among the team, and is excited to be a part of it all. In his spare time, He keeps busy with projects around his house or helping out friends with theirs. He loves to play golf, hang with his family, watch his kids play sports, and participates in epic battles of Cornhole with his son in their backyard.

Steve Flores is a Factor Pre-Construction Coordinator with 30 years of experience in the building industry. He moved to Colorado in 1993 and has worked in Remodeling, New Build, Design and Land Development. Steve found an interest in building at the age of 15 and knew he wanted to work in an environment where everyone works together, builds each other up, and has energetic, positive attitude! In his time off work, Steve loves spending time with his three children and seven grandchildren, fly fishing, golfing, and camping.

When Nancy isn’t working, she loves traveling, exercise, cooking, and spending time with her friends and family.

Rick is a Factor Site Manager with a long history of Carpentry. He now resides in Denver, but comes from hands on carpentry experience in locations from Amsterdam to the tip of South America. Specializing in Trim Carpentry and Detail Work, he is inspired by the process of catering to client's needs and developing best products for them. His favorite part of his position with Factor is the Hands on Problem-Solving, and in his free time enjoys Theater and Acting!

When Paul isn't enjoying his time with the Factor Team, he enjoys reading, backpacking, metal detecting, and ornithology.

Zach is a Site Manager with Factor Design Build. He started as a Project Manager for a flooring company, moved to manage warranties and production for Lennar Homes, and was a Warranty Manager for Brookfield Residential overseeing the entire state of Colorado. This road led him to Factor, where he harnesses his skills in customer service, attention to detail, and communication to interact with different trades and solve problems on the fly in the field. Zach embraces a challenge and takes pride in the process of getting a project to the point where he can see clients are truly satisfied and excited. Off the clock, you might find him hiking with friends, occasionally binge-watching his favorite TV shows, and if he’s feeling bold enough, dabbling in standup comedy.

Gary is a Site Manager with Factor Design Build. He comes from 18 years of carpentry experience with a focus on high end residential homes. Originally from Ireland, Gary moved to Boston when he was 24 and after nearly 12 years there, has recently made his way to Denver, CO. With Specialty in Finish Carpentry, Cabinetry Installs, and framing, Gary comes from a long line of carpenters and first got his hands in carpentry with his uncle at age 13. With a passion for finding creative solutions to problems and watching the course of a project move concepts to completion, Gary is happy to be a part of the Factor Design Build Team. In his time off of work, Gary enjoys playing Gaelic football, hurling, hiking skiing, scuba diving, and international travel.

Matt is a Factor Site Manager, retired Special Operations Firefighter, and ex-owner of a custom rebuild construction company! This diverse range of experience has inspired Matt’s love of improving the lives of client’s and building their dream homes. He started building custom furniture and dabbling in woodworking when he was a teenager, and after Hurricane Michael devastated his hometown, he felt inspired and driven to start a construction company that could deliver affordable construction and roofing support to the people in his area. Off the clock, Matt enjoys surfing, hiking, fishing, snowboarding, scuba diving, spearfishing, and pretty much anything that provides an adrenaline rush!

Tristan is the Factor Design Build Denver Area Manager. Born and raised in Wyoming, his first experience in construction was at twelve years old, when he got to see his parents and two older brothers (otherwise known as his greatest inspiration) build their dream log home from the ground up. He went on to study at the University of Northern Colorado, and spent two years after college flipping houses which eventually led to new construction home building in 2014! Our resident specialist in problem-solving and time management, Tristan finds joy in turning our client’s dreams into reality. Through all the inherent highs and lows of the process, Tristan is an anchor and a construction nerd…enjoying the process of figuring out how all the pieces fit into the puzzle. His priority when he’s off the clock is quality time with his wife and kids, though he doesn’t mind fly fishing and golfing either.

Shane Schaap, a procurement specialist At Factor Design Build, has worked in construction for more than a decade. Schaap came to Factor at a perfect time when he desired to expand his already solid experience with a new and experienced team. He approaches work with enthusiasm and a desire to learn every day. Originally from Denver, Schaap is an avid outdoors man with a love of skiing and snowmobiling and everything in between. When he’s not keeping Factor's procurement and warehouse inventory in top order, you can find Schaap enjoying time with his wife and two teenage daughters, working on motorcycles in his garage, or sketching to calm his mind. He and his wife are experienced world travelers and enjoy experiencing new cultures and finding new friends along the way.

Andy is the Punch List Carpenter with Factor. Originally from Arvada, Andy comes from a background of residential carpentry, wood shop, and six years commercial construction. He specializes in fine woodworking and loves that he gets to work with his hands every day. Ever since he can remember, he has loved building things, tracing back to his childhood love of legos. Andy is incredibly inspired by all the beautiful, historical architecture around the Denver area, and enjoys being able to work with the factor team and deliver high quality work. When he isn’t at work, Andy loves to play disc golf with his friends and spend as much time with his wife and newborn daughter as possible!
